Art and Windows

Another spiral staircase that I am completely in love with, and beautiful light filled spaces with great art placement. I really love the guitar hanging on the wall, being the music lover that I am. Another great idea of how to put what you love on your walls...Even if you want to hang your chainsaw collection, just keep it dusted...
This wall of windows dividing the room is absolutely insane....
Camel and cream or white, never goes out of style, my friends....

Brooklyn for Dinner

We stayed at my dear friends place in SOHO. A beautiful, art filled loft, in an insane location. Thank you Tiffanie & Scott !
The incredible piece of art is by Stefan Kleinschuster of Loveland, Colorado.

On to Brooklyn...

Marie, (from the beautiful store Veritables in Seattle), has graciously taken me under her wing and shown me the ropes here, and introduced me to some AMAZING people. Thank you Marie!! We came to check out the home show, go to some meetings, and eat! After we finished up checking out all the goods at the show, we took off to Brooklyn to eat at the much touted, "Vinegar Hill House". I took some photos as we toured DUMBO and found ( in the middle of a very industrial area) this incredibly beautiful "Captains House", that apparently was an old sea captains house from long ago...I am guessing there are many a photo shoot here.

After our walk, we had the most AMAZING meal I have had in a LONG time (all Marie and I could say to each other the whole time eating was oh my god, oh my god). In fact it was so good I basically wolfed it down, and forgot to take a picture.(Sorry!)

You NEED to go here...

The decor was super cozy. It gave me of a 70's malibu vibe, with a little bit of brooklyn jazz musician thrown in, but cooler, and everything was house canned or fresh from the garden, but still completely sophisticated at the same time. Which is a hard combo to accomplish successfully.
The Staff was rockin' out to Bob Seger.
Will have more on Monday. I really need to sleep! Wishing you a sunny, sleep filled weekend!

All photo's by Jennifer Ament.

N.Y.C. Love...

Spent a few days in N.Y.C. Went to the home and gift show and I took some pics on the way. The pillows were beautiful...

This bedding combo is stunning, I think I need it on my bed...

Dransfield and Ross makes the most AMAZING pillows...and let me tell you...the guys working there were so nice and helpful and authentic...I LOVED them...Please buy pillows from them, they are the highest quality and most beautiful fabrics EVER...Available at Veritables, Seattle.

Of course I had to make a stop at Evolution and get some Raccoon penis bones...

My favorite designer...I was disappointed in how little product she had in stock. :(
More to come....

Bedroom Love

Mirrors used as a focal point in a room can look so grand and beautiful, as long as they are of good quality, and in my book that means either they are really old, or really expensive, unfortunately.
Bright airy, neutral colored bedrooms can be so calming...I need about 5 or 6 houses for all the different ways I like to live...Maybe I have multiple personality disorder. There was a long period of time where people were doing "THEME" rooms...It reminds me a bit of Disneyland...A tad too contrived...But a few different houses with subtle themes, from say, a persons travels, or an idea based on a specific area where one lives, yes indeedee...

I know what you are thinking...What if the ostrich fell on you in the middle of the night, right?

Wearable Art : Arielle De Pinto

Canadian artist Arielle de Pinto treats metal like fiber and crochets fantastical sheaths and adornments. A graduate of Concordia University, de Pinto developed her unique technique over the course of her studies in textiles and printmaking.

De Pinto's work combines the essence of handicrafts with contemporary materials and a loose, unstructured aesthetic. With a background in printmaking, the designer had no formal training in jewelry design. She learned to crochet by following the instructions off a Susan Bates crochet hook package -- luckily for the legions of young and avant-garde, de Pinto felt more attraction to metal (burnished gold, hammered silver) than yarn.

Call me crazy, but this hat/face mask is really cool...

I LOVE the fingerless gloved, webbed bracelets...

This webbed piece above is my favorite.

Many of these pieces are available to purchase at Lambs Ear in Seattle Washington. www.lambsearshoes.com

Artist of the Month : Hernan Paganini

Completely obsessed with this Argentinian artist who works with many different art forms including Wood, Humans, Graphic Design, and Oil Pastels...The fantastic colors he works with remind me of some of the American Abstracts that were done in the late 1950's and early 1960's. The pieces below are titled, "Travel Map Drawings" The colors that he uses are so vivid and brilliant...

I think the one above is my favorite...Is it a mother holding a grown child? I LOVE guessing! These are all called - "Readings from the sky and motions of stars."

Hernan and one of his Wood pieces below.
