Montana Winter, Part One
We are in the freezing cold, snowy world of Montana right now, which, arguably, in my opinion, is one of the best times to visit. A few years back, we had one of the best experiences of our lives, taking a snowmobiling trip, by OURSELVES through Yellowstone Park, and decided to do it again with both kiddos in tow...They have since changed the law, to where it is mandatory to go with a guide, and although it wasn't the same, and we seemed to see a few more people around than before, it was still almost just as amazing...Hot pools of water everywhere, and buffalo walking right beside you, is an experience that I would call an "American Safari".
You cannot tell AT ALL in these photos, but these wolves had GIGANTIC
paws and huge, long legs. They scared me more than the bears,
especially after seeing that movie "Grey".
Coyotes are so much smaller than wolves...
Apparently a hiker dove into this 202 degrees, pool of water to save his dog years ago, and came out saying, "that was probably stupid." He and his dog died from 3rd degree burns the next day...
Of course, when we vacation in winter, we always add a snowboard trip into the mix, and I have to say.One of the best days of powder EVER. The wonderful thing about Montana is the people are less, and the nature is more, giving us loads of space, and quiet, to restore our sanity, in our ridiculously fast paced lives....
Hope you are able to take off for a few days to enjoy the last days of winter...More photo's to come...

Artist of the Month : Matt Wisniewski

I have never been a big collector of "Collage". It was crafty, and may, or may not, have had a gum wrapper, a beer bottle top, some shoelaces, and a shitload of glue involved. This is not that. Collage today can be a sophisticated blend of beautiful images, that seem fresh. I love the way Matt Wisniewski uses minerals, oceans, mountains, and other beautiful or cool images as part of the subject.
Wouldn't it be great to have a custom one done of someone you love?

It's Just Art...
I love this mix...and the couch set up is pretty rad too. It doesn't have to be all precious pieces of art, but it does need to work together, and even though we all have the best of intentions...only a few get it right...
Hope you are having a great start to the week!

Unpretentious Cool...
As many of you know who follow my blog, Isabel Marant is one of my favorite fashion designers. She has a gift for making things super wearable and comfortable, and yet what I would call casual avant garde, or what super rad girls would wear,(if they had some extra cash laying around). I was so excited to see The Coveteur do a spread on Isabel's husband Jerome Dreyfuss, who is a super talented guy as well. The killer art is by one of my favorite artists, Marco Velk, a french artist living in New York.
Love this shirt...
Jerome has a large collection of vintage rock tee's, I am so jealous...
They admit they are heavily influenced by California living in the
60's and 70's, with their laid back, casual vibe.
I love the light streaming in from the windows, and the lived in feel.
To me it says, two down to earth artists live here. I am sure to be invited over soon.;
Have a great weekend!

Wish I Was Here...
The V.I.P. Art Fair is happening In N.Y.C. Feb. 3 through the 8th, and I wish I was there to see some of my favorite galleries from around the world with some of their best artists represented...These insane PHOTOGRAPHS, by Luis Gisbert, (which look like paintings to me), are just some of the fantastic pieces of work that will be at the fair.
I have always been fascinated with car culture in america, and so has this artist, who sought out people in the U.S. crafting unique vehicles in their garages. The car interiors are the main focus, behind which are landscape photographs that he shot separately and later combined with the car interiors.
These photo's, as bright and energetic as they are, give me a sense of peace when I look at them...Reminding me of the day, when I actually had time to sit in a car, overlooking some beautiful vista, probably when I just got my drivers license, and was with a boy, or friends, doing something that I wasn't supposed to be doing...Ahhhh, those were the days. When time meant nothing, and all I wanted to do was grow up...
Hope you are having a great week...
