Montana Winter, Part One

We are in the freezing cold, snowy world of Montana right now, which, arguably, in my opinion, is one of the best times to visit. A few years back, we had one of the best experiences of our lives, taking a snowmobiling trip, by OURSELVES through Yellowstone Park, and decided to do it again with both kiddos in tow...They have since changed the law, to where it is mandatory to go with a guide, and although it wasn't the same, and we seemed to see a few more people around than before, it was still almost just as amazing...Hot pools of water everywhere, and buffalo walking right beside you, is an experience that I would call an "American Safari".

You cannot tell AT ALL in these photos, but these wolves had GIGANTIC
paws and huge, long legs. They scared me more than the bears,
especially after seeing that movie "Grey".

Coyotes are so much smaller than wolves...

Apparently a hiker dove into this 202 degrees, pool of water to save his dog years ago, and came out saying, "that was probably stupid." He and his dog died from 3rd degree burns the next day...

Of course, when we vacation in winter, we always add a snowboard trip into the mix, and I have to say.One of the best days of powder EVER. The wonderful thing about Montana is the people are less, and the nature is more, giving us loads of space, and quiet, to restore our sanity, in our ridiculously fast paced lives....
Hope you are able to take off for a few days to enjoy the last days of winter...More photo's to come...

I have a dream to spend a Christmas at Yellowstone, loved seeing your photos! We're living in Coeur d'Alene, ID and are heading over to Whitefish, MT next weekend, so the hubby can snowboard & we can explore a bit of MT.
