I have friends who experienced it firsthand,
describing to me, the horrors and heartbreak...
What I am trying to remember is the outpouring of support and love,
as this country came together.
as this country came together.
Why does it take this kind of disaster for us all to come together in support?
I think if we all remembered how precious life is, and how
easily our lives can be taken away, we would all be less judgemental, and separated...
In love and remembrance...

Lair and Art
This painting, by one of my favorite artists, Iris Van Dongen, would look great in this space, but even more than that, I see this woman being the inhabitant.

The Art of a Stylist...
As a lover of the talented stylist, this is styled so perfectly, imperfect.
I especially like the toy monkey hanging off of the left wall...

Sparse, my Arse...
What if this room was different? Then it wouldn't be the same, right? Because it would be different...That's why I like it...Because it is this room...the way it is...Freshly cluttered, Cluttered freshly...

Diner en Blanc, in Seattle
| Le Diner en Blanc, it's called. Originating in Paris, where 10,000 people had a secret "Gustatory Brigadoon", I would call it a very special feast, and celebration. We came, we brought, we had, we left. It was a secret, and I felt lucky to have been invited. If you haven't heard, it is a super elegant, flash mob of foodies, music lovers, artists, and anyone else, that gets invited. It was creative, organic, and FUN. Like a dream. A very angelic dream...And all in white...People rolled in from their Watercraft, and their Cris Craft... |
The Set-Up |

The food, and table decor was so much fun to walk around a check out. Considering you have to pack it all in, and pack it all out, the food, and settings were amazing.

| Meeting new friends, and old, here is a new friend, (Tracy Wong), who is married to a wonderful woman who collects my art. Small world... |
As the evening sky moved in, and with the PERFECT weather, we all stood up and shook our napkins, like a big surrendering to the enemy forces...With beautiful violins playing in the background, (everything from Lady Gaga, to Nirvana, to Mozart), we secretly drank our drinks, and ate our insanely delicious food, all while wondering when, or if, the cops would come and haul us away....Alas, they did not, and we didn't get caught...Ahhh the thrill, of getting away with something?
Interior designer, and Veritables shop owner, Marie Harris. |
Night wore on, and then, hark, a puttering of sparklers were heard, and soon we all were waving them around, and it felt like I was in a serious DREAM...It was beautiful...The water all around was sparkling, too.
| It was lovely. I am sure it will be popping up soon in a state near you, I hope so, so that you can enjoy some of this elegant, dreamlike, flash mobbery too. Thanks to Jon Gaetz and Marie Harris for the invite! See more about this phenom, here. |

For the Love of Pool's....
I love when architects or designers incorporate trees into a setting. I can think of a few favorite restaurant's of mine in California that have giant trees popping out of the ground, right in the middle of the seating area(inside and outside!)...This pool setting in Australia reminds me of them. How much more perfect could this pool deck be?

Everyone wants to be famous...
I CANNOT stop watching this. It mostly CRACKS me UP...But it makes me kinda sad too. Most Americans seem to have an enormous fantasy going, that to be a success, or happy, we have to be famous. Of course I am sure most of them would completely deny this, but it's the truth. Why else do we have thousands of kids auditioning for American idol and all the other trash T.V.? I think being famous is the the only thing people can think of, that MIGHT (if you are one in a million), make a person large sums of cash, without working very hard, (not that all famous people don't work hard!). But look what we are creating? When parents get a good fantasy going that their kid is going to be a star, they give them WAY too much power because they think they are the cutest thing in the world, and the kid turns into a demanding, entitled , superficial, egotistical adult...I am no T.V. snob...I try to avoid it like the plague, because most of it SUCKS, but I love a good train wreck, just like the next person, and I wonder if I should just delete the whole upper part of this paragraph because here is the deal...She is a kid, and she will probably grow out of this stage of horror, and she probably had a horrible nights sleep and was just exhausted...Shizzle is FUNNY....

Art On Your Neck....
Here is the thing...dainty little jewels are nice, and I guess to many, non-offensive. But not a whole lot in the world of fashion gets me more excited, than a unique,(not mass-produced), high quality, and well made, (but not necessarily involving diamonds and gems), statement piece around ones neck. It is wearable art, and speaks volumes about you, and the confidence you carry....Don't be afraid...It doesn't mean you are loud, or garish, or need attention. I see it as the opposite. You know what you like, and you don't give a @#$% what others think.
I am so sad I don't know who made this amazing piece of vintage jewelry, please let me know, if you know.
Found on Tumblr with no link to who made, or where to find.

Montana Love...
We go to Montana every summer and have the time of our lives, and this summer was no exception. Flathead lake gave us plenty of love, and we enjoyed every second of our addiction to water, and water play. We have a boat and go wake boarding in Seattle a lot, but we haven't tried the "surfing" craze yet, where you ride the wake with a mini surfboard, and no bindings to hold your feet...I now have another addiction in my life, which I CANNOT stop thinking about...It is a BLAST....
Don't laugh at the picture above...;)
There was a few of us, and kids galore. They had a horrible time as you can tell from the pic above...
Oh, and paddle-boarding? Can I tell you how other-worldly,
and almost meditative that is, on a lake with not much traffic?
A Golden Eagle. Pretty rare sighting, but we got lucky a few times...
Too bad you couldn't see my bright golden glitter pedicure in this pic, because it was AWESOME.
My handsome hubby skippin' some serious rocks.
Hope you are getting out and enjoying your blessings...
