Rock With Me.

I LOVE rocking chairs. This is such a great picture of Picasso in his studio and the Thonet chair peeking out of the back corner. This chair was created by Michael Thonet in 1870. Dali had one in his studio as well.

When I was growing up my mother had one of these amazing Thonet rocking chairs and loomed rug art hunk up on the wall above it. She gave it to me, and guess what I did? I sold it at a garage sale!? Therefore I am determined to find another one and pretend that it is the same one my mother gave to me.

Gilty Love.

These delicate gilt frames are perfectly placed on the wall. I think they look great because they have similar width and weight to them. The rooms are fresh and crisp and the earthy chair grounds it all...LOVE it..

New Works.

Many of my pieces for summer are based on creatures of the water. Northwest scenes like Herons,Whales, Hawks, Swallows, Hummingbirds, and the insanely gorgeous ferry boats that we have going back and forth all day with our island commuters on board. Island living here in Washington is quite desirable . Yes, there are people with big money that have the luxury of living on the water, but there are also the organic farmers, nomadic hippies, writers, and artists. Many that live on modest means and bike back and forth to the ferry when they need to go to town. When you come to visit Seattle, do not miss taking a ferry boat across the pond, for a beautiful hike or swim.
The wall above was part of my June show at Capers in West Seattle-206-932-0371.
This is one of my largest pieces measuring 23 inches long and 12 inches wide. I have it placed above our shiny black piano. This piece can only be found at Veritables in Seattle, or Bellevue, 206-322-7782.

My website is only days away from being ready, and there will be approx. 10 pieces for sale there. jenniferament.com

Eccentric designer love...

This is the work of designer Madame Sera, who has worked on the homes of Kate Moss, Courtney Love, and Lizzi Jagger, to name a few...Besides the work of Kelly Wearstler, it is the most exciting work I have seen in a long time...If I had a home in Malibu, this is who I would hire to help me design it.

A little tired of the word "BOHO"...I would use "Eclectic Chic" to describe these rooms. Whatever words you want to use, they are beautiful. By the way I first found these images from my friend Cassandra Lavalle from Coco and Kelley. She inspired me to start my blog in the first place, and more importantly, she is a really nice person. cocokelley.blogspot.com/

Abstract beauties.

These works are by the talented Amy Carnes.
She puts a micro chip into each painting with a different # in each,
so that they can be identified if there is a theft, etc...
I love the colors that she uses and the method is striking...

Earthy, Eclectic, Glam...

This chandelier is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G..
This is the home of Judy Alderidge, designed to perfection by Samantha Reitmayer Sano of Swoon Studio.
Love the cute corgi in the pic. The arched entries are beautiful.
The lamps over the table are insane...
Serpent anything is just cool.
The picture below is my favorite of them all. It is purely unique. And every home should have a station of uniqueness. A station, a corner, a shelf, a hub, an area of the home that shows people who you are, trinkets and all. It could be your mothers collection of bronze baby booties...The white house ashtray that your Aunt Gerty stole when she was on a tour in '69...Or rocks from beautiful caves that you hiked through in Thailand. (Those are in my house. ) Just some ideas of how it does not take money, just a bit of creative thinking to make your house a home.
This stool with the Muppet cushion...I am dying to know where this was found?? It looks like it is from morocco. Maybe a prince used it as a stool to wash his face in gold?

Oh Montana, how I miss thee...

So we took a little trip to Montana...
We had planned to float the Missouri River in a canoe and camp on the side of the river in the middle of NOWHERE, following Louis and Clark's path. We had our pages bookmarked in our little Louis and Clark book, telling us where the buffalo jumps were, and where some gorgeous places like a stone cavern where the old outlaws used to hide from the law, and Native American sites all around..(We found actual intact tee-pee rings the last time we went).

Unfortunately, it just happened to be one of the worst weeks of weather in Montana history. There were tornado's, and hail the size of golf balls, and flooding everywhere...So we did not get to do our well planned trip down the river after all...We still had an amazing time at the "Big Sandy Homecoming", which is the teeny-tiny town that my husband grew up in and graduated with 25 people or so. Here are some highlights...

As we get closer to Montana...The sky opens wide and says hello...

This is the river we were supposed to be floating...Is it not just lovely?

The road into Big Sandy...Be careful not to blink or you will miss it...

The best pizza joint / bar in town. Peps.

The way this one was behaving, I almost threw him in there for a night...

The parade is about to begin...

This was a dinosaur and old west museum that had the only skeleton in the world with actual arrowheads in the chest, hips, and back..They think it was a European trapper who walked down the wrong road...He was found in a shallow grave in the late 1800's

The world's longest Dinosaur below and a T-rex skull above...

I found this artist at the only coffee place at town and fell in love with his Montana landscape shots. His name is Craig Edwards and he lives in Big Sandy. This one was my favorite...Click on it to see more detail, the colors are amazing and the middle building says something like "Sara Sucks!" I need this in my home...www.edwardsstudio.com/
